China Yuan Dynasty 2 Kuan 1264-1341 Pick UNL S/M#C167-1 PMG Choice Fine 15 Net. One of the earliest examples of paper money from the Yuan Dynasty. The 2 Kuan denomination depicted in the center box is represented by the two strings of cash coins, each comprised of 10 cash stacks. Although this example is quite large in size, it is slightly smaller than the more common 1 Kuan from the Ming Dynasty. These early notes were printed on mulberry paper and charcoal dye was used for both the script and design. This historical example is well preserved for its age and will certainly highlight any collection. The third party grading company mentions restorations and tears which do not detract from the historical significance of this rarity. A truly exceptional banknote. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/china-yuan-dynasty-2-kuan-1264-1341-pick-unl-s-m-c167-1-pmg-choice-fine-15-net/a/4037-23031.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchivesCurrency-WorldPaperMoney-4037-07062022 HID08706262019 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
