Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1814 So-FJ MS64+ NGC, Santiago mint, KM78, Cal-1871. A dazzling survivor of this popular issue, showcasing satin crackling surfaces with crisp motifs and abundant cartwheel luster. Admitting only minimal flan flaws, normally more present for the issue, the offering also has an interesting over-punch correction in the letter U in "AUSPICE", only visible due to the fresh dies used to strike the piece. Unsurprisingly, the sole finest graded by either NGC or PCGS.
