Kwangsi. Republic "Mount Xiangbi" 20 Cents Year 38 (1949) XF Details (Cleaned) PCGS, Kweilin mint, KM-Y416, L&M-176, Kann-755, WS-0993, Wenchao-1057 (rarity 1 star), Shi Jiagan Collection-568. A singularly appealing and extremely challenging one-year minor, produced in response to the rampant inflation afflicting the contemporary Kuomintang government, forcing them to restore a silver standard in Kwangsi. The obverse scene depicts Mount Xiangbi (Elephant Nose Hill) in Kweilin, one of the most recognizable locations in the province. We have offered only two examples of this issue previously, with the vast majority of the certified population ranking below the AU level, many having suffered from cleaning.
