Kweichow. Republic "Auto" Dollar Year 17 (1928) XF Details (Cleaning) PCGS, Chengdu mint, KM-Y428, L&M-609, Kann-757e, WS-1109, Wenchao-1062 (rarity 2 stars). Two blades of grass variety. A key to the provincial series and one of only two collectible Dollars from Kweichow, always garnering significant fanfare when crossing the auction block. Almost exclusively located in lower tiers of preservation, many times with comparable conditional qualifiers, and seemingly cleaned and retoned, though surprisingly absent any of the expected hairlines that normally accompany the designation and doing little to detract from the overall eye appeal of the piece after having developed a uniform pewter patina amidst the ample remnant details.
