Taiwan. Republic copper "Chiang Kai-shek" Medal Year 26 (1937) MS62 Brown PCGS, L&M-968 var. (there, in silver), WS-0127. 33mm. The second finest of a mere three examples of this medal in copper which PCGS has yet certified, marking only the third occasion in our history that we have offered an example. Slightly glossy atop the highpoints, the fields appear generally clean and free of serious marks, with a small sliver of sky-blue tone visible along the rim above Chiang Kai-shek's right shoulder. For the sake of comparison, an MS61 Brown in our December 2021 HKINF sale #3095 achieved $26,400. We would note that while Wang Chun Li lists this medal only in copper, the example he plates appears to be in silver. From the Glorium Collection
