Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) AU58 NGC, Wuchang mint, KM-Y321, L&M-45, Kann-639, Chang-CH233, WS-0090, Wenchao-851 (rarity 1 star). Type without hat. An absolutely enchanting representative of this classic Chinese rarity, covetable in all states of preservation, but especially so approaching Mint State designations. The current offering displays an especially fine visual character, thanks in part to an exacting strike and shimmering underlying luster, precluded from a finer numerical grade by only the most trivial of friction noted to the cheek of Li Yuan-hung's iconic portrait. As such, we expect an elevated bidder interest commensurate with the recent surge in popularity for this early Republic issue.
