Republic Yuan Shih-kai "Plumed Hat" Dollar ND (1916) AU Details (Cleaned) PCGS, Tientsin mint, KM-Y332, L&M-942, Kann-663, WS-0097. Struck for the inauguration of Yuan Shih-kai as Emperor Hung-hsien. A popular Republican issue encountered much more infrequently than the earlier 1914 "Plumed Hat" type, decorated with the instantly recognizable flying dragon motif. While ample hairlines populate the steely surfaces denoted by the conditional qualifier, the example at hand has retoned favorably, enveloped in a light champagne tone that lends itself to a pleasing visual character.
