Norodom I billon 6 Fuang ND (c. 1885-1901) MS62 NGC, Battanbang mint, KM-Unl., Fonrobert-Unl., cf. Daniel-100a (listed only in copper). 4.38gm. Garuda bird type. A highly enigmatic type, recorded by Howard Daniel only in either copper or gold, with 5,000 minted of the former and just 5 of the latter. We have been able to locate just two auction occurrences of the type in copper in recent decades, one from Daniel's own collection (Steve Album Auction 40, May 2021, Lot 1307), and one offered by Baldwin's-Ma Tak Wo in their Auction 56 (April 2014, Lot 835). Likely of the utmost rarity in this billion striking as such, and an unusually high grade in which to locate the type in general.
