Israel. The Stephen S. Wise Award Presented to Leonard Bernstein by the American Jewish Congress, October 29, 1967. Massive over 4-inch bronze medal. Reverse engraved (at about 20 degree angle): PRESENTED TO LEONARD BERNSTEIN "FOR ENHANCING HUMAN EXPERIENCE THROUGH ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT" SUNDAY OCTOBER 29, 1967. The first annual Stephen S. Wise awards were presented in 1950 to President Truman and Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion of Israel. Medal as made, with some discoloration around reverse edge, embedded in 6 ¾" x 7" lucite block (with chip at corner and a scattered light scratch or two). Estimated Value $200 - 400
