San Jose, Costa Rica, Banco Internacional, 10 colones, 3-12-1936, series D, serial 292508, overprint "Acuardo" typesetting error, PCGS VF 20, very rare. SCWPM-181a. This lot and the following one illustrate a very unusual typesetting error made by Thomas de la Rue: the word Acuerdo is misspelled as Acuardo in the overprint on this note (yet correct on the following lot). While we've encountered typesetting errors in overprinted dates before, this is the first we've seen of a misspelled word in the overprint. Nice, circulated note without any problems, still possessing strong ink colors, and overall a desirable type. Pedigreed to the Tamarindo Collection.
