2002 £2 gold Proof coins commemorating the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Obverse: Ian Rank-Broadley's definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Reverse: Matthew Bonaccorsi's designs are similar across the four coins in the set. Each coin depicts a moving athlete holding a flowing banner above their head with the legend 'XVII COMMONWEALTH GAMES 2002' and the edge inscription 'SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP. MANCHESTER 2002'. Each coin represents one of the four nations of the United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) with each nation's flag being the differentiator on the coins. S.PCGS1.
