SOIT. QUI MAL. Y. PENSE., date below (S.3928). Superb example with very little circulation wear and near full mint lustre, particularly on the obverse. Possible signs of light cleaning at some point in its history, about extremely fine.
Calendar Year Mintage 3,675,600.
The Latin legend on obverse translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith". The Old French motto on the reverse garter translates as "Shame on he who thinks ill of it".
