Australia, Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1859, Sydney Mint, second young head left with wreath of banksia in hair, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, rev. AUSTRALIA across centre, crown above within tied laurel wreath, SYDNEY MINT above, ONE SOVEREIGN below (Marsh 362R; S.3852D). Very fine condition with some scratching on obverse, minimal wear on reverse, retains original lustre.

Calendar Year Mintage 1,050,500.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith".
