Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Sixth Issue, Shillings, Tower, .925 Fine, bust 6B (2), 1595-1598, ELIZAB.' D.' G.' ANG.' FR.' ET . HIB.' REGI.'. crowned bust left, rev. POSVI DEV.' ADIVTOREM . MEV.', square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 5.55g, 8h, m.m. key, flat portrait with defacement to second quarter of reverse, fair / fine, a literal 'key mintmark' in series; another, 1598-1600, similar, 5.45g, 7h, m.m. anchor upright / with rounded flukes to right (North 2014; Spink 2577), clipped and rubbed with some surface marks, fair to almost fine, a highly prized mintmark from this series (2).
