France, Louis XIV, 1643-1715, 1650, Jeton, UNC; France, Louis XIV, 1643-1715, 1650 Jeton, UNC, Corporation of Inn & Tavern Keepers. Copper, unsigned. 7g, 26.7mm. F-5027. Louis XIV right/ Jesus walks with two people along a vineyard on the way to what could be a tavern; the name Emmaus above; In Via Vitis Veritas Et Vita (In the Way of the Vine Truth and Life). Very Rare and in excellent condition. Emmaus was a town mentioned in the Gospel of Luke of the New Testament. It has been said that "The Walk to Emmaus offers today\'s disciples a parallel opportunity to rediscover Christ\'s presence in their lives, to gain fresh understanding of God\'s transforming grace and to form friendships that foster faith and support spiritual maturity". I guess at times, one could pull some interesting parallels to this story when entering a tavern.
