William III (1694-1702), Shilling, 1699, fourth laureate, cuirassed and draped bust right, the 'flaming hair' variety, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, seven billets, obliquely milled edge, 6.03g, 6h (Bull 1142; ESC 1116; Spink 3515), light flecking and historic marks, otherwise a delightful example, handsomely cabinet toned, a really pleasingly good very fine, the scarcer bust type for this notoriously rare date.
