George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1717, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, larger lettering, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, eight strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.99g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 269; Bull 1565; ESC 1164; Spink 3645), bright cleaned with some tarnishing behind bust, otherwise struck details almost extremely fine, of dishonest appearance but a a very scarce date, particularly in higher grades.
