LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 24 mm, 7.36 g, 7 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; behind, Θ. Rev. YEΛHTΩN Lion walking to right; above, Φ; below, Θ. HN III 1287. SNG Munich 860 (same dies). Williams 293 (O162/R227). Well centered and boldly struck. Surfaces slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
