Erik XIV Riksdaler 1561 XF45 NGC, Dav-8701, AAH-5. A rare Daler type with only three examples certified by NGC. The piece at hand possesses gunmetal toning that lets up on the reverse, allowing an area of pure argent brilliance to poke through. Similarly, robust underlying luster highlights the devices so they stand out against this darker background. The portrait of Erik XIV, who famously died from a poisoned bowl of pea soup, remains well defined for the grade.
