The Sir David Kirch Collection of Skit Notes - Part Three

S.W.Fores No. 17, for my Father, Mr. John Bull, 5 Farthings, 11 December 1818, promising to pay 'the Master, Wardens & Court of Assistants, of the Worshipful Company of Thiefcatchers, or Bearer, when their Worships shall have received the appointment of Superintendents of the various Theatres and other Places of Public Amusement throughout the United Kingdom', signed O.P.Bull and John Huzza, with a vignette showing three heads in profile, with the caption 'Shadows of Power, "Trifles, light as Air" and the ditty 'What stupid Loggerheads are ye, To fight and Quarrel with O.P.' good very fine £100-£150

---

O.P. once again refers to the Original Price Riot of 1809. This note seems to be asking for some kind of Theatre Warden, possibly to ensure fair entry prices!
