Rare Bluestone Fixed-Price Lists
Bluestone, Barney. THIRTY-THREE FIXED-PRICE AND PREMIUM-PAID LISTS. Syracuse and Miami, c. 1929-1950. Includes the following: Lists 23 and 24; lists dated June (1936), July 1938, November 1943, July 1944 and January 1947; the Salt City Coin Book (undated); five undated fixed-price lists apparently dated between 1935 and 1943; A Magnificent Collection of United States Large Cents... (1933); an undated single-sheet list of "Recent Acquisitions," dated as before September 1947 on a photocopied note by Charles Ruby; fixed-price lists dated June 1947, July 1947, September 1947, October 1947, January 1948, March 1948, June 1948, September 1948, October 1948, December 1948, April 1949, July 1949, October 1949, March 1950, May 1950 (still in Syracuse) and August 1950 (now in Florida); and two undated lists from Florida. Varying formats. Generally very good to fine. An extraordinary assemblage of seldom-encountered Barney Bluestone publications, virtually complete. Nine of these are unlisted by Bourne, and every catalogue listed by Bourne is present here with one exception: List 19, the earliest Bourne located. All of Bluestone's auctions were held in Syracuse; the presence here of three lists issued from Miami gives us some indication of when he made his move south.
