SURINAME. Zilverbon. 2 1/2 Gulden, 1920. P-103. PMG Very Fine 25.
The 2 1/2 Gulden is the highest denomination of the August 1st, 1920 series, and is one of the most difficult notes to acquire from early Suriname issues of paper money. Just three examples of this Pick number have been graded by PMG at the time of cataloging. We sold a PMG Very Fine 20 in our January 2022 NYINC sale for $10,200 and we expect this top pop graded treasure to vastly eclipse that number. PMG comments "Restoration". PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
