Austria 2.1.1925 P-88 PMG Gem UNC 66 EPQ 5/- Schillinge
The first denomination we are offering in this sale from the iconic 1925 series of Austria. To some extent it is a shame how rare the notes from this series are in uncirculated grades, as it is in these grades that the artistic appeal and colors of these notes truly comes into focus. We offer four out of six denominations of this set in this sale, all in uncirculated condition, with three out of four being the single finest in the PMG population report, and the other surpassed by just one example. This 5/- Schillinge is the first in this series and despite its relatively low face value at the time of issue has proven to be a true condition-rarity. It is typically only found in circulated grades and is very seldom available even remotely close to the condition found here. With Austrian notes in much demand right now we expect spirited bidding activity for all four notes offered in this sale.
