Thistle Bank 4 Shillings & 9 Pence (1811), KM-CC49, Manville-46, the bank's distinctive insignia stamped on a 1761-Mo MM Pillar 8 Reales of Carlos III, coin graded XF45, c/s graded XF Details PCGS, a choice example of this rare issue with neatly applied counter-marks in circular indents, each well centered upon the host coin, which itself is evenly struck with centered designs, sharp details throughout, and choice for the grade with appealing golden gray patina. This specimen is the earliest date recorded of a host coin overstruck by the Thistle Bank of Glasgow, founded in 1761. Very rare in this outstanding state of preservation.
