Macedon, kingdom of Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.25 g), Pella mint, period III, issued c.323/2-315 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right, bee to left in field below, above FILIPP OU. (cf.S.6680, Le Rider (504a) mule of dies D268 and R416, Pl.21, SNG Berry 111, SNG ANS 439-441). In high relief, round attractive pale grey tone, good very fine and very rare.

An unpublished die combination, the bee below is reported by Le Rider for 9 coins, 4 obverse and 8 reverse dies and new die combinations is not unexpected.
