Dorothy Brown, nurse, age 28, born at Sandgate, Brisbane, Qld; Enl.26Apr1915 in 3AGH while a member of AANS; Emb.15May1915; admitted to 3AGH at Lemnos due to ill health; placed on Supernumerary List 20Feb1916; trf to Aust Aux Hosp, Southall 10Aug1916; detached for duty with 2 AGH 19Apr1917, France; to Sister 05May1917; trf to England 17Oct1917 to be married; detached for duty with 2 AAH 26Oct1917; RTA 01Nov1917; Disemb.03Jan1918; Resigned appointment in AANS and this accepted and effective from 20Jan1918.

On 10 May 1915 the nursing staff at the Children's Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland presented Sister Dorothy Brown with a leather suit-case and a travelling rug prior to her embarking for overseas service in the war.

On Sunday 13 August 1915 His Excellency the Governor-General unveiled an honour board at St Paul's Presbyterian Church, Leichhardt Street, Spring Hill, Brisbane honouring those who had given their lives or services for their country. Nurse Dorothy Brown was one of the names on the honour board.

On Wednesday night 26 June 1918, The Returned Soldiers' and Patriots' League welcomed back the returned Anzacs including Sister Dorothy Brown at a function at the 'Dug-out' Tearooms, Queen Street, Brisbane.
