INDIA. Kushan Empire. Kanishka I (ca. AD 127-151). AV dinar (19mm, 7.99 gm, 12h). NGC MS 5/5 - 3/5, edge scuffs. Bactria, main mint (probably Balkh), late phase. ÞAONANOÞAO KA-NhÞKI KOÞANO, Kanishka I standing facing, diademed head left, with long beard, wearing round cap with ladder-like brim, flames on shoulder, cloak around shoulders double-clasped at chest with corner folds pointing left and right, over belted tunic, trousers, and boots decorated with flames motif, sword with curved hilt on belt, grounded spear in left hand, sacrificing with right hand over altar to left; dotted border beneath feet / MAO, Mao standing facing, diademed head left, lunar "horns" at shoulders, wearing cloak around shoulders clasped at chest over belted calf-length tunic, and boots, extending right hand in benediction, left hand on hilt of belted sword and cradling transverse filleted scepter with elliptical finial; tamgha to left, dotted border.
