INDIA. Kushan Empire. Huvishka (ca. AD 151-190). AV dinar (19mm, 7.84 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 4/5, edge marks. Kushan standard, Bactria, main mint (probably Balkh), early phase. ÞAONANOÞAO O-OHÞKI KOÞANO, half-length bust of Huvishka left, on mountain top (off flan), wearing mustache, heavy sideburns, and prominent wart on cheek, round helmet with crest ornament, twin-pronged forehead ornament, crescent on side, and a jeweled rim, diadem with triangular tie and double ladder-like ribbons to right, and loose-fitting tunic with jeweled collar, flames emanating from right shoulder, club in right hand with extended index finger, sword hilt in left / ΦAPPO, Pharro standing facing, turned right, nimbate head right, wearing helmet with forehead ornament, diadem with triangular tie and two ribbons to left, cloak around shoulders double-clasped at chest over calf-length tunic, and boots, grounded staff with knob finial in left hand, bag of coins in right palm at waist; tamgha with crossbar in right field, dotted border.
