Ceylon Government of Ceylon 5 Rupees ND (1925-28) Pick 22 PCGS Very Fine 25. Printer Thomas de la Rue introduced an elephant vignette on the back of Ceylonese notes beginning in 1925. This large format 5 Rupees is from the 1925 to 1928 series, and it is scarce in all formats. The first few layers of design elements are seen on this curious Progressive Proof, also known as a Printer Remnant. It is perforated cancelled, and shows signs of use, as evidence by the folds and pinholes.
