Racine: Whitman/Western Publishing Company, 1946-1976. The first thirty editions, complete. 12mo, all in the original red bindings, gilt. The first edition copy is a first printing; the 1968 edition is signed by R.S. Yeoman. The condition of the early editions is as follows: First--very good, slightly worn covers with fading but visible gilt and a stamp shop label on the pastedown, but no interior markings. Second--very good or so, with spotting on front cover. Third--would be near fine but for a few dog-eared pages. Fourth--second state (white endpapers rather than blue), near fine. Fifth--good with wear to covers and annotations. Sixth--near fine. Seventh--slightly faded spine, else fine. Eighth-- slightly faded spine, else fine. The subsequent editions are generally near fine or better, with an exception or two. The first 30 regular edition Red Books. A Guide Book of United States Coins is the best-selling numismatic book of all time, becoming an avidly sought collectible in its own right. The first edition here present is from the first printing.
