China / People's Republic 1949 P-844a PMG Very Fine 30 500 Yuan
The first series of Renminbi is filled with note that one would assume are fairly available, but which upon further research prove to be quite elusive. The 500 Yuan offered in this lot is such a type. The front features a Beijing city gate and is executed in various shades of green. A very challenging type to find, seen here in nice circulated condition. The staining noted by the grading service is certainly minor and is not distracting at all. PMG mentions "Minor stains".
