English Hammered Coins from Various Properties
Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Pattern Sixpence, Gp D, by an unknown artist, mm. rose, crowned bust left in collar and armour with ribbon of the lesser George, both arches of crown jewelled, rev. oval scroll-garnished shield between c r, no inner circles, 2.80g/12h (cf. DNW 90/488 [Shilling]; SCBI Brooker –; cf. N 2697 [Shilling]). Better than fine but creased and pierced with some obverse scratches, excessively rare £300-£400
