SIKH EMPIRE: AR rupee (11.43g), Lahore, AH1110 year 42, KM-300.53 (Mughal), SS-LH.6, in the name of Aurangzeb, standard Mughal design, but with the khanda symbol of the Sikhs within the S of the word ma'nus, bold VF to EF, RR. Struck during the year that Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Hikhr, was baptized the Khalsa on March 30, 1699 (= 29 Ramadan AH1110). The addition of the khanda would represent an arrangement between the Sikhs of Lahore and the mintmaster, either officially or secretly.
