BURMA: TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th/18th century, cast large tin coin (41.85g), Robinson, 68.5mm; mythical hintha bird facing left, with tail rising above and holding a leafy branch in its beak, 8 pellets below the beak & 12 pellets beneath the tail // stylized Burmese text, based on Robinson text B1, but with square Burmese letters; one small casting flaw, bold VF to EF, RR. Several examples of this type have been sold in our Auctions 33-43.
