KOREA: Goryeo, 935-1392, AE mun (2.52g), H-8.3, sam han tong bo, orthodox script, cast 1097-1105, Fine, ex Adam Yeung Collection. King Sukjong of Goryeo created a new monetary system based on round copper-alloy coins with square holes. The coins were produced bearing the inscriptions dong guk "Eastern Country", hae dong "East of the Sea", and sam han (the collective name of the Byeonhan, Jinhan, and Mahan confederacies).
