JALAYRIDS: Shaykh Uways I, 1356-1374, LOT of 88 silver coins, including Jalayrid: types A-2302.1, Isfahan (12); A-2302S, mostly Shiraz and Kazirun, plus a few from Shabankara (51); and A-2302U.1, Aydhaj (15) and Ramuz (1); and Muzaffarid: type A-2282.4, Shiraz (7) and mint off (2); mostly VF condition but nearly all with some weakness or flatness, as usual for these types; retail value $1600; lot of 88 pieces. The various mints in this lot were never actually occupied by the Jalayrids, but remained in the hands of the contentious Muzaffarid rivals, some of whom hired Jalayrid troops to support their positions against other Muzaffarids. They agreed to issue coins in the name of Shaykh Uways and paid tributes to the Jalayrids in Baghdad.
Estimate: 500-800 USD
