ILKHAN: Uljaytu, 1304-1316, AR presentation dinar (6 dirhams) (12.58g), Wasit, AH704, A-2178B, type A, special presentation strike, with additional outer legends on both sides (Qur'an 24:55 on obverse, 48:29 on reverse), meticulously engraved with the finest calligraphic style available at the zenith of Ilkhan power; about 8% flat area on both sides, bold VF to EF, RR. A less attractive example of Baghdad 706 was sold in our Auction 36, lot 903 (mount removed). There are no examples of Wasit on CoinArchives.
