GAUL, Northeast. Bellovaci. Circa 100-50 BC. AR Quarter Stater (14mm, 1.63 g, 9h). Celticized male head right with prominent eye, backwards S symbol, pellet in annulet, and sun below / Horse prancing right, sun above left. Depeyrot, NC V, 236 var. (obv. symbols); D&T cf. 279-81 (same); CCCBM –; OIN XIII.16 (this coin). Iridescent toning, lightly granular surfaces. Good VF. Very rare variety.
