George I silver "James III & Clementina Wedding" Medal ND (1719) AU55 NGC, MI-446-52, Eimer-485, Woolf 37:1. 48.9mm. 59.5gm. By O. Hamerani. Obv. His bust right armored and draped. Rev. Her bust draped left. A proxy marriage ceremony between the "Old Pretender" and Clementina was held in Bologna on May 9, 1719. The piece contains glossy gunmetal surfaces backlit by a polychromatic infusion that turns darker towards the peripheries. There is some wear on the highpoints, but this specimen remains quite beautiful. From the Abbeygate Collection of British Medals
