"Death of Pope Clement XIV" bronze Medal 1774 MS65 Brown NGC, BHM-196, Woolf-72:1. 28.8mm. Unsigned. Obv. Arms of Henry, Cardinal, Duke of York. Rev. Latin inscription. Struck by Henry in his capacity as Vice-Chancellor of the Holy Roman Church during the Sede Vacante caused by the death of Pope Clement XIV in September 1774. Sharply struck and remaining in an immaculate state of preservation without any discernible flaws or weaknesses. Glossy in appearance, this example abounds in mint freshness.
