Great Britain
George III silver "Henry Brougham" Medal 1818 MS64 NGC, BHM-970, Eimer-1106. 36mm. By G. Mills. Obv. Bust right. Rev. Eight lines text within wreath. Marking Brougham's candidature in Westmoreland elections, he would later become Lord High Chancellor and help pass the 1832 Reform Act and the 1833 Slavery Abolition Act. A type almost always seen with piercing or mount, this pristine example presents a panoply of color underlying an attractive, mottled patina. Although simple in design, this singular example at either grading service is eye-catching. From the Abbeygate Collection of British Medals
