Algeria 18.12.1959 P-121a PMG About UNC 55 100 Nouveaux Francs
The first (of two) varieties listed in the Pick book, differentiated by the date. The first (Pick-121a) was issued in 1959, with just two dates. The second (Pick-121b) was issued in 1960 and 1961 and is more easily available. For the first variety, this particular example is the single finest in the PMG population report. A large-format type with a classic design and part of the final series issued in Algeria prior to independence in 1962. PMG mentions "Pinholes".
