Drusus. Died A.D. 23. Æ as. 10.43 gm. 30.5 mm. Rome mint. Struck under Tiberius, A.D. 22-23. Bare head of Drusus left; DRVSVS CAESAR TI AVG F DIVI AVG N / PONTIF TRIBVN POTEST ITER around large S C. RIC I 45 (Tiberius). Good Very Fine; pleasing brown patina; light roughness; crisp and well centered reverse. Fine style.

Drusus and his brother Nero, sons of Germanicus, were adopted by the emperor Tiberius. He accused them and their mother of treason, exiled and eventually killed them. Their younger brother became the Emperor Caligula.
