Hadrian. A.D. 117-138. Æ dupondius. 13.45 gm. 27 mm. Rome mint. Struck A.D. 118. His radiate and slightly draped bust right; IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG / Annona standing left, holding grain ears and cornucopia; modius to left, prow to right; PONT MAX T R POT COS DES III around, S-C across field, ANNONA AVG in exergue. RIC II.3 179 (RIC II 560b). Near Extremely Fine; rich green patina; light roughness and smoothing/cleaning marks in fields; sharply struck and good style; bold pleasing portrait. Scarce denomination, and in uncommonly high grade (photo appears rougher than coin in hand).
