ROMAN IMPERIAL. Arcadius. A.D. 383-408. AV solidus. 4.33 gm. 20 mm. Constantinople mint, 3rd officina. Struck A.D. 397-402. His pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear and shield ornamented with a horseman spearing a fallen foe; D N ARCADI-VS P F AVG / Constantinopolis seated right, holding scepter and Victory on globe, right foot on prow; CONCORDIA AVGG Γ around, CONOB in exergue. RIC X 7. Depeyrot 55/1. Very Fine; scattered die rust, flan flaws. Nonetheless an attractive solidus from the late years of the Roman Empire.
