Wreathed head of Demeter left, wearing triple pendant earring and necklace / Ear of barley with leaf to left, griffin above leaf, AY below; META upwards to right. Johnston Class C, 6.3 (same dies). SNG Fitzwilliam 509 (same dies). HN Italy 1589. Near Extremely Fine; beautiful old cabinet toning with underlying iridescence; lovely style, well centered and sharply struck. Choice specimen.
