Laureate head of Philetairos right / Athena enthroned left, resting on shield to right, crowning ΦΙΛΕΤΑΙΡΟΥ (dynastic name) to left; transverse spear in background, filleted thyrsos to outer left, ΣΩ to inner left, strung bow to right. Westermark Group VII, V.CXLVIII/R3. SNG BN 1631. Kray-Morkolm Essays, p. 214, 15 plate 49,1. Near Extremely Fine; beautiful gray old collection toning with luster in devices; light porosity. Exceptionally fine style, handsome Hellenistic portrait, sharply struck on a giant flan. Choice for issue. Very Rare variety.
