Richard of Cornwall (1209-1272), fantasy silver penny, 18th/19th century, silvered metal, short cross, pellet in each angle, RICARDVS, rev. triangle above St. Andrew's Cross, pellet in each angle, ROTOMAGVS, 1.47gms., better than fine
Sold as a curiosity, with old collector's ticket, not subject to return. The coin is not listed by H. E. Pagan (BNJ 40, 1971), "Mr. Emery's Mint", so was probably made elsewhere.
Richard was one of the wealthiest men in Europe, born the second son of King John, the nominal Count of Poitou (1225–1243), Earl of Cornwall (from 1225) and King of the Romans (from 1257).

Estimate: 50 - 80 GBP
