William III, uniface lead squeeze, of a rare portrait medal, possibly struck for his return to England from Holland, 1689, unsigned, draped armoured bust r., with long hair, GVLIELMVS D G ANGLOR SCOT – FRANC HIB REX F D P P P F A, beaded border, 64.5mm. (MI.687/73; vL III, 399; vL [2021] 1689.44), very fine and very rare
The portrait on the squeeze appears finished but the lettering is somewhat spindly as if it might be a 'work in progress'. The medal would normally, as its reverse, have a portrait of Queen Mary. The medallist is not known.

Estimate: 100 - 150 GBP
