Elizabeth II, proof coronation crowns, 1953 (20), monarch on horseback, rev. crown in centre of emblematical cross, shield of arms to each angle (S.4136), some light contact marks, otherwise mint state (20)
Lots 55 to 76 - A group of 1953 crowns. Issued 70 years ago this year as the first issue of our Late Queen upon her coronation, these coins are particularly poignant. In homage, the first coins of Charles III have featured the same reverse to celebrate the incredible life and reign of her majesty. The coins all have some light contact marks, they were found wrapped in the original brown paper from the A. H. Baldwin's Vault. As a sample, we have submitted a group of the crowns found in the group for grading and they were certified as 62 or 63. The coins are as issued in the proof sets. We are also offering a large group of South Rhodesian Crowns of 1953 (lots 381 - 401).

Estimate: 500 - 600 GBP
